Welcome to our Garden Club! Our Mission is:
To stimulate a knowledge and love of gardening by working and learning together
To aid in protection and conservation of natural resources, native plants, and pollinators
To encourage civic planning, planting, and the improvement of roadsides and parks
To support Wekiva Youth Camp & provide "scholarships" to campers
To preserve, exhibit, and educate the public about the Emma Sears Marsh wildflower paintings
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
We may have gotten rained out this morning, but we still had 13 Citizen Scientists (2 were youths) at the Great Florida Pollinator Count! Watch a video HERE
In 15 minutes, we counted 13 carpenter bees, 9bumblebees 110 honeybees. 71 small bees, 35 wasps, 54 flies, 141 butterflies/moths and 22 other insects and pollinators for a total of 455 pollinators counted - that's a 41% higher average per 15 minutes than 2024!!
