LAKES and HILLS GARDEN CLUB PROJECTS
Every year we provide scholarships to local children for FFGC's Camp Wekiva, Camp Wekiva Leadership training, and FFGC's SEEK program. We also have our own scholarship fund that gives a scholarship to a qualified student to an institute of higher learning to study horticulture, landscaping, natural chemical sciences or an allied subject.

Our club  projects include:
CIVIC BEAUTIFICATION
We plant and maintain  landscaping at the several town parks -- Chautauqua and Blair and the Mount Dora Sculpture Garden. We have also landscaped the Donnelly House, an historic downtown Mount Dora building that houses the Masonic Lodge. We name a 'Garden of the Month' which honors a residential garden for its charm and beauty.
ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION
On Florida's Arbor Day, January 20th, we donate and plant a tree each year at a local school, town building or park.
CIVIC CAUSES
We support several area  organizations, such as Lake Cares Food Pantry,  The Haven, Turning Point Ranch, Community Primary Healthcare Clinic, Life Streams, Oakland Nature Preserve, Trout Lake Nature Center, Sonnentag Icehouse Theater, and Habitat for Humanity.
YOUTH ACTIVITIES
We work with the Round Lake Elementary School planting and maintaining a butterfly garden. We work with the students to make butterfly houses and stepping stones for their garden. We have also established a transportation fund to help local schools transport their elementary students to the Trout Lake Nature Center to participate in the center's educational programs.
